Anyone who spends a lot of time outdoors knows that one of the most useful items you can have is a good tarp. With the right framing pieces and a good supply of rope, you can construct shelters in almost any configuration.

The Free Soldier survivor awning is a generously sized 3.2-meter x 3 meter (10.5 feet x 9.84 feet) waterproof polyester tarp. Each edge of the tarp contains five webbing loops to provide secure tie-down points. Five loops, each containing a metal grommet, also run down the middle of the tarp for ridge poles or center lines.
